Mobile Radiology Information for Aged Care Clinical Staff…

How do I book a Mobile X-ray or Ultrasound?

Requesting a Mobile X-Ray or Ultrasound is a straight forward process:

  • We require a Radiology Request form to perform our procedure’s onsite. The Radiology Request Form needs to contain the following information:

    • Patients, name, DOB and Medicare Card Number

    • Provision of all relevant clinical information regarding the request exam

    • The form needs to be signed and dated by the attending GP or NP

    • We are unable to move ahead with a booking until all the above information is provided to us

    • You can use the booking portal on our website to send your residents Radiology Request Form, where our team will provide a booking date via email.

    • Please do not call us to confirm that we have recieved the Request Form - our team are inundated with phone calls and slows down the ability to move forward with the booking process. Please await for email confirmation from our team

What Happens on the Day of my residents examination?

Ultra Mobile Radiology generally provides Mobile X-Ray within 24 hours of receiving the Radiology Request Form

Our Radiographer/Sonographer will call ahead ½ an hour before their arrival so you can have you resident ready for their exam - the Radiographer will provide instructions.

It is imperative that your staff have the patient ready before we arrive, as non-compliance can lead to delays resulting in other patients not receiving their scheduled exam. You help to have the patient ready for us is always appreciated!!

Finally, our Radiographers/Sonographers will always liaise with the Aged Care Clinical Leaders if we see any obvious pathology that requires urgent follow up. We will also try to contact the requesting GP to provide some brief clinical details.

Please note: Our Radiographers/Sonographers are not Radiologists. Our on-site team can provide an informal guide to what they see on their images, however you should wait for a formal Radiology Report, written by our Radiologists, before moving forward with any clinical advice to the family.

In such cases you first point of contact should alway be with the requesting GP.

How do we receive the Radiology Report?

Your facility will receive a secure email link with the Radiology Report attached within 24 for Urgent studies, and 48 hours for routine examinations.

The secure email link expires after 24 hours, so we suggest your clinical team print or download your residents results once you receive the secure email.

For our Contract Partners - your staff and GP’s will have access to the secure Prism Portal and will have full access to your residents reports and images 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As we only have a small administration team, we prefer that email us directly if you are missing any particular report, as phone calls can go unanswered during busy periods.
